ABOUT

Terry Beech, Liberal MP for Burnaby-North Seymour, is hosting a public forum with Pacific Caucus Liberal MPs in BC on the issue of Kinder Morgan and energy policy.

Please RSVP if you plan to attend. We will send updates with any details.

After two weeks of roundtables and town halls, in which more than 90% of participants showed up against the pipeline expansion project, it's pretty clear where BC stands. Furthermore, Justin Trudeau has failed in his commitment to overhaul the review process to include Kinder Morgan, and we have to wonder why he's in such a rush to make a decision this December.

This event is an ideal opportunity to show up and give our Liberal MPs a solid mandate to tell their leader that Kinder Morgan absolutely cannot be approved this December.

In addition to RSVPing, please call your MP's constituency office to be sure that your MP is coming (if they are Liberal).

Format

The public forum will be divided into two segments. The first segment will include brief introductions from MP Terry Beech and members of Pacific Caucus, followed by presentations from five experts in academia and industry.

In the second half of the public forum, members of the public will be invited to share their ideas on Canada’s energy future and provide feedback on the decision-making process surrounding major energy projects in our country. In order to hear from as many people as possible, we ask that each speaker limit their comments to a maximum of two minutes. Following questions from the audience, members of Pacific Caucus will be invited to offer closing remarks.

Directions

I would allow extra time to find the building.

The "Diamond Family Auditorium"  is usually known at the "SFU Theatre."

On this map, it's at H-22, dead centre.

If you know the campus, it's one level up (300) from Convocation Mall, southeast corner, across from the WAC Bennett Library.

Here are some helpful directions.

If you take the bus, it's to the east (right) of the first SFU bus stop.

By car, go up Gaglardi Way, and park under the Convocation Mall. There is NO free parking.
